Clipper travel trailers invites you to CampEasy by getting out of that old tent and into a new travel trailer. I masked it off and shot it with some flat-black paint and it looks fine. Most pop-up campers are a great way to upgrade your camping experience from using a tent to RVing. Only problem is it dries either tan or white depending on which kind you get. As for the weatherstipping, the gorilla glue does indeed work. If anyone can suggest a particular brand epoxy and type (model #) that has worked successfully please post. I'm sticking with trying to figure out a good fix for now. I also priced the weatherstripping and it costs $50. The lid can be removed from the camper via screws in the hinge pretty easily, but the hinge is fastenned to the lid with rivets. I didn't inquire as to whether or not the hinge comes pre-rivited to the lid - but if not that would indeed be a pain to drill them out. The replacement lid can be ordered thru a Viking parts dealership - it costs $180 + $110 shipping. So far the ones I've tried appear to work ok but then if you pick on it a little after it's cured you find that it basically flakes right off and hasn't bonded with the plastic at all. I haven't found the best solution yet because I don't really know what kind of plastic the lid is made out of to select the appropriate bonding agent. My camper is also a Viking, a '02 Coachmen Clipper 1290ST. I've also had the problem with the cracking lid as well as the weatherstripping seal coming off like 'maromeo' mentioned. I did price the parts from Viking and they would come to about $230 for the lid but the lid is attached with pop rivits so you might also be looking at replacing the surrounding area at another $210. This was done two seasons ago and we travelled with this fix over 6000 miles last summer in all kinds of weather and no issues. If your rubber seal starts to pull away from the lid, we glued it on with Gorilla Glue. ![]() I even touch up and painted the underside so you can not see the crack. It looks brand new you can not even tell. We painted the whole lid with White Rustoleum Fusion for Plastic spray paint. We then prepped the area for painting, covering the roof the underside of the bin and the rubber seal. The glue has a tendency to expand as it is drying so there will be some sanding. We then sanded down the glue ledge with a very fine grade sand paper to the level of the bin. It did turn a vanilla color but that was fine. We then applied an ABS epoxy type glue, similar to this: The good- It is very easy to tow at 1418lbs. We cleaned the area very well with soap and water to get out any dirt. So, I just purchased a 2022 Coachman Clipper Express 9.0 TD pop up camper and I have not really found a lot of info from others who have also purchased so I wanted to give my input to maybe help someone decide if it is the right camper for them. Which will stop the crack from spreading. We took our smallest drill bit and drilled a hole at each end of the crack.
